“LISTEN BEFORE YOU SING” is a movie about a Bunun tribal elementary school risking closure and funding withdrawal unless the students distinguish themselves by winning a singing award. Using vibrating colors, rough textures, and indigenous Taiwanese patterns, I want the audience to sense the aboriginal people’s active lives and personalities.
